jannelle called today to let us know a few things. first of all, she decided to go to the hotel near the hospital. she decided this AFTER she went home, and then didn’t go to the hotel until 2 am. without any of her clothes or toiletries or anything. so she was asking around for people to take her b mom to their house and bring her stuff to her. keep in mind, the hospital is about 50 minutes away, and whoever did this would be investing a lot of time into it. time that would not have been wasted if they’d thought of it before (WHY go to a hotel without your stuff????). common sense means nothing to some, i guess.
i am not sure who ended up taking her, but my mom and i couldn’t do it.
so anyway, she is now near the boys.
i guess yesterday, andrew’s iv-connected arm looked a bit swollen. when jannelle and her bmom asked about it, the nurse told them his arm was sensitive to the tape. !!!! ok for us, we would question the validity in that statement. but they didn’t.
today, the arm was even more swollen, so they asked the nurse who was on call about it. she checked it, and it was from the iv. it had come out of his vein so the iv was just going into his arm, causing it to swell. so he had it for a WHOLE DAY. the poor little guy is already sensitive to everything, and they let more pain happen. 🙁 🙁
the last bit of news: jannelle said the nurses said the twins MAY be able to go to her city’s hospital on monday. this is just a MAYBE, nothing definitive. but it would be nice for her if they could go there.
that’s it for now.

I’m sorry that you’re so uncomfortable. I can’t wait to meet Josiah myself, so I can imagine how you feel.

It’ll definately be easier on Mama and Babies if they were closer to her home. Hope that they are able to be transfered successfully. And stupid nurse for not checking the IV properly.

I am excited for August as well! It’s coming up FAST. Do you realize that? *tingles of excitement.*

aww poor baby…I had that happen to my hand while I was in the hospital whe n I had Trey. I think they call it infiltration, it’s when the needle comes out of the vein and the fluid starts going into the tissue. It’s actually not painful, but it does cause a lot of swelling.
I hope the situation with Janelle gets better. ((hugs))
