i talked with jannelle today. andrew has been put on a c-pap machine now. i don’t know if this is better or worse for him…a c-pap as opposed to a regular breathing machine. he is still not eating out of a bottle yet. jannelle said they told her they may have to give him a feeding tube. i think she means a g-tube, but i’m not sure. she still hasn’t fed justin. the nurses are giving him his bottles. i told her to make sure she tells them SHE wants to feed him so she can get some practice doing it. i think it’s ridiculous if he’s healthy and eating fine that they won’t let his mom feed him!! of course i don’t know what their plans are…

That is strange that she hasn’t been able to feed Justin yet…. though I do remember the nurses trying to pressure me into putting Amanda in the nursery (so I could ‘rest’), but I refused to let them.

    Still praying.

Cpap is better than an actual respirator. Cpap machines are just air that is pushed through the nose so he is actually breathing more on his own than with the aid of a machine. Cpaps are used after breathing machines to help “wean” from the machine.

I’m sure they would probably only do an NG tube which goes through the nose to the stomach. It can stay for a few days where as a g tube is permanent. I can’t see them doing such a permanent procedure on such a tiny baby who probably won’t need it forever. But I’ve seen stranger things, yk?

    Hope all is well.
